So when it comes to naturally aspirated engines there is a goodbye to old faithful and welcoming in of smaller engines with bigger turbo's. What do you lose, if you have ever ridden an E60 BMW M5, high revving Porshe 911, Lambo Huracan or Ford GT350 there is respect for old faithful but the same can be said if you have driven in a Mclaren 720S, E63 AMG S, Bugatti Chiron, or Porshe 911 Turbo. So Ferrari has a dilemma as it known as the last old faithful left with a barrage of high strung, high pitched screamers that command a head nod as it drives by. There are a few companies that can make these Turbo beasts sound special Mercedez Benz is the leader in my mind, but there may be others such as the RS7, or recently released Aston Martins that still beg your attention. There is one thing that Turbos can't to make it screech like unseen Freddy Kruger, that includes the process that a Turbo uses to produce a baritone sound that engineers have been unable to get around yet. So welcome to the lowest toned but possibly most performance capable of them all the Ferrari 488 GTB.
Ferrari 488 Piloti Pista, get that deep tone because that's what it sounds like. Here is the good turbo's produce torque and Ferrari has great transmissions so SIDEWAYS YOU GO at any time and place. Spec wise the boost seems to be an attempt to attack it's closest competitor the 720S.
