What does the 5.0L V8 and Jaguar have in common.. Well in the last few years it comes in the form of 550hp and 500 lb TQ this engine has been thrown in every Jaguar sports model for almost half a decade and it still works. Yes, it's still a powerful motor that keeps them at least competitive in the market, why they don't up the power up to 600HP I have no clue the engine can easily take it know some tuned JAGUAR's. The reservation, however, has been left for the cars but what about the SUV that is bringing Jaguar back into the green, selling off of rooftops the Jaguar F Pace has been a blessing to the company a much-needed infusion of cash following its more rugged brother Land Rover.

Take a peek at the sales numbers:

1/3rd of the sales for Jaguar are tied to this magnificent SUV. That means since its release in 2016 the F-PACE is Jaguars top seller..sorry XF, and XE. What does that mean well in trying to keep up with the Germans they have go fast models for everything so this is where the young race car driver meets two kids. If you thought you had to lose it all with age, and a family say no more the SVR is meant to fit the bill.

The features that will make this special, the problem with the older Jag's was the RWD, let me come back and say the fun in the old Jaguars was it's RWD. This car may lose the tailspin you'll see in those vehicles and the drifting understeer that you will get but it should do these things well perform when you want and in a manner that won't kill you. Not the first to have the 5.0L V8 with the AWD as the next best seller the smaller F Type has taken in some of these features the spec's read as this (straight from the website)

  • Supercharged 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine developing 550PS and 680Nm of torque
  • 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds (0-60mph in 4.1 seconds) with a top speed of 283km/h (176mph)
  • SVR aerodynamic package features unique front and rear bumpers, lower body sides and rear flip spoiler to enhance cooling, reduce lift and drag and aid high-speed stability
  • SVR-tuned chassis features uprated dampers with front and rear spring rates increased by 30/10 per cent respectively
  • Lightweight 21- and optional 22-inch forged wheels with differential width from front to rear to improve handling and traction
  • Rear Electronic Active Differential for optimised traction and dynamics
  • Uprated brakes feature 395/396mm front/rear two-piece discs
  • Variable Valve Active exhaust delivers powerful Jaguar SVR soundtrack, is 6.6kg lighter and aids performance by reducing back pressure
  • Bespoke calibrations for Quickshift transmission, Electric Power Assisted Steering, Adaptive Dynamics, Torque Vectoring, Dynamic Stability Control and All-Wheel Drive systems

So competitive it should be, entertaining it should be, class leading well the added vents and peep holes actually make this a potential segment leader....Watch for the next video because there is another brand releasing something that won't let Jaguar sit.
