The Genesis has truly begun: The Beginning of a new life G70

If this is the year of the Auto rebound that include mature brands such as Mercedes unveiling a plethora of new models from SUV coupe's to segment changing interiors a new rookie market has thickened and a new player has arrived without any shortcuts, Genesis brand launched by Hyundai has been criticized for their copycat design's of yesteryear but steady as she goes the Brand continues to make inroads starting with its recruiting process. If you can't beat'em than buy'em and Hyundai has spent dollars hiring the best talent from around the world in Engineering & Design. The market Segment of entry into the mid-level luxury market includes a Luxury entry Model: The G90 A midsized sedan: The G80 and a sporty entry-level model: G70.  Nowadays a large SUV and smaller CUV will be needed more to come on that but Hyundai has that covered as well.

Let's get into the G70, the new model has a large group to contend with, very large and actually scary. So do you try to beat all of them in the sports game or do you bring an alternative to the game with a little bit of everything so that you can contend but in a different way. Here goes the long list of competitors, feel like I am writing the capitals of each state (this is also how I rank them overall - not just sports model-overall (Alfa Romeo Giulia wins the sports model)

Benz C Class, BMW 3 Series, Lexus IS, Cadi ATS, Audi A4, Infinite Q50, Jaguar XE, Alfa Giulia, and Volvo S60. Now add the beloved G70 and my friends you got a really crowded party, did I forget the Tesla Model 3 yes I guess I did.

Tough crowd but Genesis has come to play without skimping on the needs to make this a successful introduction, I also applaud Hyundai on their speed of bringing vehicles to market. Concept released a year later the car is here, that I commend ... Cadillac Escala where are you??? So where do we start I think the most appealing thing on this vehicle is the interior

Horizontal layout, driver-focused ergonomics, finished with Nappa Leather, high-quality soft-touch material and aluminum door handles and a spacious cabin that can fit folks of different sizes asserts itself as the midrange slayer that I expect. Though knocking off the 3 series is the ultimate goal, the Genesis brand differentiates itself from its sister brand the Kia by focusing the attack on the Benz which puts it in the range of competitors such as the Infinite Q50, Lexus, IS, Audi A4, and Volvo S60. Funny how I mentioned two Asian brands first due to the fact they are also chasing the Germans but in that chase I see them creating their own Niche and when the Horse Power wars are over style and comfort may ultimately reign supreme if all else is equal.

Exterior reflections is where we may hear copycat the front a more aggressive Infinite Q50, though the muscular lines are appreciated the back end Mercedes esque taillights with the XE side arches, and the sides BMW like but hey I am chasing grains here everyone is copying someone at one point unless your the Model T Ford so lets give that up. In all a great entry that forms a distinct design that follows the G80 midsized sedan one that ultimately comes in ready to fight.

Here is where the model strikes a chord instead of wavering I expect to see a model that can compete with the Germans and separates itself from one of the Asian brands (Lexus) with the engine choice. The recently released Twin Turbo 3.3L V6 (THE GDI) keeps up with the best of the class with a 4.7 second 0-60. But the aim is the entire market so that includes the likes of a 2.0L turbocharged 4 cylinder and a 2.2L I4 diesel for the European appeal. To keep the rest of the group honest the dynamics include the following:

1. Launch Control - Maximizes power control in acceleration mode
2. Rack-mounted, motor-driven power steering (R-MDPS) and multi-link rear suspension - Provides precise handling and comfortable ride
3. Dynamic torque vectoring system - Improves vehicle cornering control
4. Mechanical limited slip differential (M-LSD) - Allows safe driving capabilities in low friction road conditions such as rain, snow, and ice.

Genesis truly wants to make a statement with this model and that includes lowering the center of gravity to maximize performance If you want the full experience make it happen with this
