So My Momma wants a new CUV...This should be easy, shouldn't..Ohh Snap There's to many??

As a redundant as it can be, we continually push the SUV and CUV (that's a compact SUV) craze. The segment has changed companies development cycles for sedans and engaged in a war of who can make the next sedan that sits up higher because 99% of these can't make it off road, that said My mom came to me after her first 10 year wonder has made it to armageddon mind you that RAV 4 has 20,000 miles on it mostly driving to church, school, and back for a total of 15 miles but whatever, YES MOMMA I CAN HELP FOR THE 15th time... ( We Love our moms!!!). This should be easy car guy and all know her taste and she wanted something mid-level entry not luxury because the Volvo XC60 was right on her mark or on mine.  

So I hit the normal car search engines soon to be an offering that Macheene will have. Suddenly to my eyes I was watered because there is not just some out there, there is a lot it seems like every car manufacturer has jumped on the bandwagon and they all look to be acceptable at the least. So I had to show my respect to some of the legacy car manufacturers and mention them in this first list but yes friends I had to go to a spreadsheet to fit them all in. 

With the pressure so thick and all these boasting, those big powerful 4 cylinders that you floor and a runner can get by you what separates the pack I am going to have to say style and this is quite subjective so I'll add a couple of more points to interior quality and feel. Nissan a question for you why does Infinite exist, right now the Japanese third stepchild in the eyes of some has decided to swing the bat hard on this run. First, their designs are so out there that they make a statement in a good way once you get use to it. 

When you tally the numbers I have to take all of the old guys out the picture unless there is something special that you cannot deny let's focus on the new school and coming to play Nissan Rogue, Honda CRV, Toyota Rav4, Chevy Equinox, Ford Escape, Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Mitsu Outlander, and VW Tiguan.

• Lots of Standard options plus Divide-N-Hide® Cargo

Low Lights: 

• Xtronic aka CVT (this is a personal bias) 
• Design may be to ahead of it's time 
• HP and TQ numbers though middle of Segment - what happed Vroom Vroom Vroom 

Honda CRV 

City Ranking: 4.25 out of 5 

Best Areas: 

• Better than the company driving dynamics 
• Quality - 160,000 KM Tune up interval ..WOWWW 
• Intelligent Control AWD system 
• Advanced Interior materials - LED Headlights/Panamoric Moonroof
• Interior Cargo Space 
• Technology Integration - Apple Car play 

Low Lights: 

• No More V-Tech in top trims  
• What else do you want me to say ... this could be momma's best friend
• One more safe design 

Toyota RAV4 

City Ranking: 4.21 out of 5 

Best Areas: 

• Muscular Stance in sports trims 
• NA 2.5L 4 Cyl 
• Best off-road capabilities 
• Dynamic Torque Control AWD 
• Interior Cargo Space 
• Technology Integration - Apple Car Play 

Low Lights: 

• 6 Speed Transmission 
• Space for your legs but not for your luggage 
• Interior though better, not enough to catch up with Honda 

Ford Escape 

City Ranking: 3.9 out of 5 

Best Areas: 

• Sync Apple CAr Play   
• LED headlamps 
• Engine Choices Galore  
• Standard Features 
• ECO boost engine will break your neck 7.1 second 0-60 

Low Lights: 

• American Toyota Rav4 
• Interior needs some more Fusion Titanium touches in this segment now  
• Everything is great but the styling of the Ford Fusion this is what brings it down a notch 

Chevy Equinox

City Ranking: 4.3 out of 5 

Best Areas: 

• MyLink  
• American's are not playing with the power - 252lb & 260lbtq 
• Much improved interior entry-level luxury 
• Standard Features galore 
• Exterior styling leads the pack 
• ECO boost engine will break your neck presumably under 7.0 seconds 0-60 

Low Lights: 

• Brand recognition not there, this needs to go to Europe Chevy is swinging the bat Mark Mcguire hard 
• No Hybrid option 
• I'm Done 

VW Tiguan 

City Ranking: 4.32 out of 5 

Best Areas: 

• Chevy just had this locked up damn you VW damn you - Beautiful entry level luxury exterior 
• American's are not playing with the power - 252lb & 260lbtq 
• Much improved interior entry-level luxury 
• Standard Features galore 
• Exterior styling leads the pack 
• ECO boost engine will break your neck presumably under 7.0 seconds 0-60 

Low Lights:
