FORD GT MERICA's SUPERCAR

Every Car Company needs a HALO whether a high-end supercar or low priced demi-god competitors need to know that you're in the game. Ford's Halo isn't the mustang though it has been quite a competitor, the Taurus and fusion play the mid-market pretty well but are not groundbreaking enough to help it stand out. This I could argue the F-150 is the staple for the Truck Market a go-to for those looking for a bed and need to do some towing. So where does that leave El Merica, well you can look further up for a bigger truck or you can strike the Axis powers where their hearts are warmed at Lemans.

So Lemans is like Miss Universe for cars started back in 1923 in Le Mans, France which featured an 8.5 miles track also but some new rules. Stepping back to the old proxy of fast, and faster this race added a couple of components that remain dear to normal drivers such as myself. When you step back you want the speed, but you also want to have the endurance and this shows a manufacturers ability to run the 800m race.  The 100m dash is great and exciting but can they come back and do that again and again ..... let me give you a time 24 hours.

So this testing ground created a showcase for future technologies see the stringencies of meeting the demands of a 24-hour race include having minimal stops at the pit station - fuel economy, being able to maintain high speed for a long period of time - aerodynamics, and being able to have a driver make these runs for 24 hours - ergonomics - comfort .  See Ford once won this event with the GT car but that was over 40 years ago, so long so forgotten.

Rewriting history requires dollars, and even though Ford has made its way back from the auto crash in 2009, there is a vulnerability in investing in a 450K$ sports car with 2 doors and really not meant to be a daily driver. Most folks in this range barely drive these purchases they sit in the garage like moose heads in Montana. None the less a trophy is a trophy and the world needs to know that the platform the brand is here and nothing can really make that point than heading to someone else's playground and beating them at their own game. Welcome the newly released Ford GT... the return to 69 in a more freakish way.

Ford is unapologetic when it comes to the Ford GT the car is meant for the track not widespread production that said you can use this engineering magnanamus as a weekend warrior as well. See you know your in for racing when you can't even adjust your seats, move wheel and foot positions to get comfortable in this rear engined power house.

What makes me worthy:

First off let's hit the competition when you have a

Mclaren 720S, Ferrari 488GTB , Lamborghini Huracan, and Audi R8 on your heels be sure to dig deep inside of your pockets because to design you'll need funding. They all have alot of common and that comes in the way force of V8, lightweight, dual clutch transmissions. So Ford you got to match that, kinda sorta....see Ford doesn't necessarily have the same amount of money so they the foregoed the 5.0, or 5.2 Voodoo engines for a lighter more GTR level attack. You know how dangerous that is as the GTR is still regarded as the most powerful supercar that you can get with the V6 engine....so for the note you lose the gargle but at the finish line your still ahead. Inside  you have the same ecoboost technology that is found in 60% of the there engines but that other 40% must work wonders along with the dual clutch sixty comes quick at 2.8 seconds.  The advantage of the V6 than comes into play with weight Dry Weight: 3054 lb I mean no offense this is like a girl measuring 38-25-38  ahh the hour glass perfection.

Specs:
Transmission: 7 Speed Dual Clutch
Engine: TT 3.5L V6 : 647 HP/550 LB
Top Speed: 216 MPH
Weight: 3054lb

To acheive the race car antics and why this car comes on top of the racing spectrum the GT adds some aerodynamic leaning advantages some technological changes available at the tip of your fingers:

  • Michelin man is coming we know the CUP 2's 20 inches
  • All Aluminum body structure
  • Adjustable Ride Height
  • Active aerodynamics

Hate to say ths but we probably won't get a chance to test the beast as we missed the showcase Ford had over in the May weekend. Only 250 a year will be built, figure that to be a test if they sell out at 450K a pop you may seem more come into the fray for the future. This is an opportunity to make a true american supercar they have succeeded in the short time since this has been released. The car has one Lemans and now is headed to a dealership near you .
