When I was growing up there were only a couple of things that made you feel success and with my Mom in the house commanding the T.V. putting on shows like Dallas and I messing with the Antennae to sneak in a peek of one of my favorite bad guy good guy shows a few shows that depicted the forever Golden. See some folks like the Chevy KIT car, with the robotic self-driving features ala Tesla now but I was more of the flashy pull your color up brush the hair kinda guy....what did that mean James Bond - Aston Martin, Magnum PI - Ferrari, Miami Vice - All of the exotics combined. Big problem...None of those new what was to come and has it cometh in blazing fashion, the car world has been turned upside downs with 4 doors that are faster than Ferrari and Coupe's that now reach like planes. The bigger problem is the bucket list is long including the prehistoric gasoline engine to the 0-60 trouncing electric car power.  There is no clear winner but the competition at the top of the pack includes the likes:
  • Porshe
  • Ferrari
  • Lamborghini
  • Koenigsegg
Ummm.... they all look the same, well London is calling let me add one Mclaren. Saving the best for last is an understatement. With all their electronic functions and hybridizations, bridging the gap from back in the day only weekend car to daily driven supercars with practicality has been a difficult transition but one that we can all applaud and marvel at. Mclaren through and through has made their cars the replica of a race car, but they have continued to evolve as well starting to jump into the dual role of race car/GT . The 650/675LT came to market as the middle range performer for those that were looking at a 488GTB, Huracan the Mclaren proved to be a formidable opponent in the 250 to 300K range. The 675 proved to be more sport vs GT the cabin like on luxury components but still, sexy none the least proved to be more Race than GT. Ths time around Mclaren has bought a car that can do 100% of everything without compromise.

The 720S
The launch of the P1 began a new journey with Mclaren the F1 there the previous supercar released in the 90's proved to be a historic vehicle but it's like Mclaren fell asleep from that time forward. The energy was lost although the F1 broke several barriers in the automotive industry. This time around Mclaren is looking to build, and what we mean by build I think is head into Porshe county. I legitimately think that Mclaren is after the Porshe game, keep the niche but add flavors for the entire family and I won't be surprised to see an SUV soon. All this will do is make the supercars that much better with additional funding.

Although this car is a cross over it doesn't lack for the power, the tunes well the car is singing like Radiohead and wimbley good day good night let's look at the spec's:

The execution of the vehicle architecture is carbon fiber throughout a serenade of what throw around you can do on the track. Top speed which is definitely limited is 212 mph, the car will be passing your Z06 corvette at 124 mph before the end of the quarter mile. So let's be honest we know Mclaren has the speed and carving ability of the Mount Rushmore Presidential Sculpture's.

This new interior made from a futuristic movie hits all the right buttons. There coming for you Mclaren not really but there trying to make a hit and the heatwave is near. How about the moving dash, yeaa this is not the matrix but kudos to keanne reaves on this one. The airy cabin leaves nothing to be desired Mclaren use to be cut and dry with the trims now offering different levels of customization from the performance spec, to the luxury trim. This is a new Mclaren one that plans to release 15 new models 50% of which will some hybridization feature captured. These are exciting times good we have the next super niche sports car company engaging in an SUV or 4 Door maybe not but in my opinion we still have the best all around sports car in the world.
