Kong Welcome Back:

In my early teens growing up in the Tri-State area, there was one thing that stuck with us that we needed to have in the tuner era of New Jersey. There were a few badges for the racers that stuck out Honda and Acura. When it came to luxury and " you made it moment" up north you had these options instead of 5 car garage it was a garage, one acre of land no it was 10 yards of space between homes, and then the almighty car. On the rough New York roads, it was tough for a Cadillac to hold up you needed a Japanese vehicle that proved to be the best over time. There were several models the LS400 and the GS400 those were gems and still are to this day. Those models kept Lexus relevant in the media for decades but things turned sour from there after their first entry into the luxury segment in the mid-1990's.

Scope Creep:
As the germans have reared the luxury market in the stranglehold there have been a lot of players attempting to make way aka in-roads in their gigantic paths. The resurgent brands Cadillac, and Genesis, formally known as Hyundai, Lexus has continued steady as you go but slowly coming back into the mix with the F Sports brands and a more menacing design. These statements have certainly differentiated them from the market leaders in the German arena but not enough to cause a fear stir. Pause and wait

Welcome to Lexus just got scary people!!! Very Scary!!! The Germans are now being attacked from all fronts with no allies:

The LS the Lexus AKA Kong group sits Longer, Lower, Wider with an even more pronounced dare I say menacing approach to handling business. The Japanese call this Omotenashi - the concept of hospitality. Well, a lot of cars or leaning towards sporty the fastest, best cornering g etc.....The Lexus motto moving forward is more driver-centric.  Sitting on an all new platform debut first with the LC 500 and the LS 500 the (GA-L) is the stiffest platform in Lexus history in addition to managing a potentially much firmer ride you need subsystems to manage the chassis control Vehicle Dynamic Integrated Management (VDIM). Active stabilizer bars with LDH which are independent steering inputs for the front and rear.

So to power this new superfluous vehicle, we have a  Twin Turbo V6 paired with a 10-speed transmission. This 10-speed deal is a problem for all the dual clutch automakers both Lexus and Chevy are claiming times as quick without the headache of rough shifts at low speed.

If Benz made end roads with their interior, Lexus is definitely taking a similar path to success. Touch screens are now commonplace, this technology has made itself comfortable in the Lexus with a bit more ease or as I said previously Omotenashi.  New seating design along with all the amenities that are expected for the front included in the back. Remember Lexus was the first to introduce rear folding back seats. A cool feature to pamper your riding stablemates is the rising feature as the vehicle sits lower it has air suspension smart's to raise up as you get close to the car.  To end that you have all the autonomous safety features known to man with one new soft spot for a pedestrian detection system this will swerve for you in case you are in trouble of getting into an accident.

In summary, a competitor is reborn with new armor to fight the challenges not only the 4 door luxury limousines but the SUV's are now taking some of the business as well.
