As a fashion editor I'm an expert on style but definitely do not excel at patience. As soon as a trend dominates on the runways, I simply can't wait to analyze it, write about it, and try it out for myself (even if it's technically geared for the season ahead).

While, right now holiday season, gift guides, party dressing, and cozy winter attire is at the forefront of my mind, I’m also forward-thinking to 2024. And after analyzing the S/S 24 runways, I can’t help but get excited about a handful of fresh trends that we have to look forward to in the new season. And even better, I can't wait to get ahead of the styles before everyone else buys into them. From unexpected burgundy hues for spring, to peplum silhouettes and '90s nostalgia, take a look below at the runway-approved styles to buy now that everyone will be wearing in 2024.

From rich burgundy hues to deep shades of oxblood, the sumptuous black cherry was the dominant color palette on practically every spring 2024 runway from designers such as Hermès, Gucci, Tom Ford to name but a few. Whether styled as a head-to-toe look or paired with other neutral hues, the unexpected spring color is one we're unquestionably excited about sporting now and into spring.

We've seen the peplum silhouette slowly gain momentum these past few seasons, but the spring 2024 collections solidified it's the trend to buy into this upcoming season. Spring's iterations are romantic, airy, and delicate rather than stiff and structured.

Whether you're ready for it not—the preppy polo shirt is officially making a comeback. Thanks to Miu Miu, the casual top was revived and styled in a number of fresh ways—worn over striped button-downs, under collegiate navy blazers and V-neck sweaters—oozing a summer camp vibe.

The sheer trend is here to stay for spring 2024. We're seeing a number of fresh ways the delicate transparent fabrics are being styled—from sheer skirts with crew-neck sweaters at Altuzarra to pastel organza shift dresses at Prada—the looks were refreshingly approachable and wearable.

Get ready: Capri's are back. From Tory Burch to Phillip Lim and Mirror Palais, cropped fitted pants were a huge hit. Whether you go for styles that fall to the knee in tight legging forms, or opt for a cropped midi length with more tailored designs—you're guaranteed to look on-trend.

Designers showed us no limits on how gold metallics can be included in our wardrobes for the new season. From gold skirt sets at Miu Miu to metallic handbags at Brandon Maxwell, your gilded holiday purchases are guaranteed to be put to good use come spring.

The momentum for minimalist '90s pieces isn't slowing down. For spring, brands are focusing on clean lines with modern touches—high, square necklines and coordinated suiting and wardrobe staples—easy to wear and perennially chic.

From the thin and sleek belts at Bevza to the low-slung large leather belts at Miu Miu, the versatile accessory is making a major statement this season and unquestionably one of the best investments you'll make.
