There's a Good Chance I'll Be Wearing These 5 Simple Items With Jeans for Spring

There are a variety of fashion pieces that won’t go out of style, and jeans are one of them. Denim is a mainstay because of its ease, cool factor, and the fact that it's universally flattering thanks to the endless number of styles available. In fact, you can wear jeans with just about anything. However, my favorite things to wear with jeans are all stylish simple items.

These days, I am all for looks that take little to no effort, and as we enter into spring, I am keeping this in mind. While outfit planning for the new season, it is clear that jeans will be on heavy rotation, and I’ve begun to narrow down my top simple picks to help round out each look. The great thing is that just because a piece is simple, it doesn’t mean it’s all about basics. Trendy pieces, especially those of the minimalistic variety, fit the bill perfectly as well.

Ahead, I pinpoint five of the simple items I’ll be wearing with jeans for spring. From tops to shoes to outerwear, I rounded up stylish picks for each item to shop now.

Fisherman sandals are bound to be a big trend this season. While I love the fashion-forward sandals styled with a variety of pieces, there is nothing like wearing a great pair with jeans.

This pair looks super luxe, but it's actually on the more affordable side.

If you're looking for something other than a black pair, this sporty yet elevated pair is a great choice.

The lug sole gives this pair a downtown-cool edge.

The Row is the It version of this sandal style. These will be all over your Instagram feed this season. They come in black as well.

This espresso-brown pair would go great with your jeans and white or neutral tops.

One thing is for sure—you'll never be able to convince me that a tee and jeans isn't a classic look. The combo never fails and can easily be dressed up or down. The key is finding the right fit. Thankfully, the options are endless.

Butter yellow is having a moment, and this is a super-easy way to incorporate it into your closet.

I consider a black T-shirt an essential no matter the time of year.

There's nothing more classic than a striped tee.

I love a neutral T-shirt to switch things up a bit. It often feels more elevated than other colors.

This white tee is made from 100% Pima cotton.

I was excited to see the resurgence of draped sweaters over the shoulders of my favorite style muses. It's such an effortless way to make any outfit look more elevated.

This lightweight striped sweater is under $100 and can be worn for many seasons to come.

This camel option is super soft, and if you end up wearing it, the deep-V-neck design is a great way to show off your underlayer.

Ribbed sweaters are my favorite at the moment, especially in neutral colors.

Two things that caught my eye here are the oatmeal color and the slouchy fit.

I could not believe this minimalistic sweater was under $50. It looks expensive.

If there is one piece that will instantly add a polished feel to any outfit, it is hands down a trench coat. Throw one on over jeans and, voilà—you have an immediate confidence boost.

The draped style of this trench coat is great for getting Abisola's look above.

I love the look of a lighter-colored trench coat. It feels fresh for spring.

Rather than the usual tan or camel options, reach for this elevated green pick.

You can't get more timeless than this sleek classic version. Plus, it's under $70.

This is a great option for topping off a variety of outfits.

Button-down shirts and jeans are a match made in fashion heaven. The simple piece makes a big impact in that it makes you feel put together with little effort. Another plus? There are endless designs and colors for every personal style.

Here's a pick that's spot-on for re-creating TyLynn's effortless look.

There's something relentlessly cool about a slouchy striped button-down shirt.

A crisp white shirt can be worn with jeans in so many ways: fully tucked, half-tucked, open with another layer underneath, and more.

I'm not one to go for bold colors, but there is something about this lemon yellow.

After a white option, a light-blue button-down shirt is the next in line for my usual go-to.
