Hot girl summer is just around the corner, which means it's time to invest in swimsuits for your upcoming beach trips and tanning sessions. Keeping Mother Nature in mind, we've rounded up five brands that craft more sustainable options to keep your lineup eco-friendly and responsible.

Our list features larger labels like Girlfriend Collective and Norba, originally known for their activewear lines and have recently expanded into swimwear. OOKIOH is a favorite among minimalists with modern-chic designs. Elsewhere, Medina makes luxe garments that help support coral restoration initiatives, while Galamaar focuses on timeless pieces that offer a circular product cycle.

Galamaar

Founded in 2017, Galamaar creates timeless swim styles using environmentally friendly fabrics produced in Los Angeles. Pieces are crafted from nylon made with discarded fishing nets for a more circular product cycle. On top of that, the label packages its products with recycled hang tags while incorporating regenerated mixed metal hardware.

Girlfriend Collective

Loved for its activewear and underwear lines, Girlfriend Collective launched its first-ever swimwear collection earlier this season. Like the rest of its garments, the one-pieces and bikinis are crafted using ECONYL® fabric, which is comprised of regenerated nylon made with post-industrial waste. To help reduce the environmental impact of fishing nets, the label is donating one percent of profits from the GF Swim collection to Healthy Seas.

Medina

A strong believer in transparency and ethical practices, Medina creates luxe swimsuits while promoting projects that help protect the marine ecosystem. The label donates one percent of all sales to non-profit organizations such as Tulum-based coral restoration initiative Restore Coral. Some of Medina's standout designs from the recent Coral Reef collection include the Typhoon one-piece and Lagoon set.

Norba

Based in Ukraine, Norba introduced its inaugural eco-friendly swimwear line earlier this year. Focused on the idea of natural beauty and loving our bodies unconditionally, the designs are made using regenerated nylon ECONYL®️. Five percent of profits from Norba's swimsuits are dedicated to the Misto Dobra Foundation, a local organization that supports women and children in difficult circumstances.

OOKIOH

Modern swimwear label OOKIOH sources its fabrics from an Italian mill, which uses 100 percent regenerated materials. Continuously striving to become fully sustainable, the brand is aiming to eliminate plastics entirely from its footprint within the next two years. Some of OOKIOH's popular collections include collaborations with Lisa Says Gah and Rachael Wang.
