As Kylie Jenner announced the arrival of her first-ever clothing line, Khy, the fashion world was torn between intrigue and critique, with London-based designer Betsy Johnson falling into the latter category. Alleging that Jenner copied the concepts of her own clothing line, PRODUCTS, Johnson took to Instagram to share her thoughts.

Jenner's first explanation of Khy was that the brand represents "who I am at my core," adding, "Creatively I have such a strong vision of what I want to look like and what I want to do and what I want to wear. There’s really no one telling me what to do."

Johnson then revealed that she had shared concepts and line sheets for her own label months ago, stating that "We emailed Kylie and all her team @products.ltd concept and language and a line sheet 6 MONTHS AGO," adding "INTERESTING CONCEPT KYLIE…INTERESTING. Thanks for the co-sign. F-ck your support." The designer, who specializes in creative direction, casting and styling, previously served as Visual Director for YEEZY and since launched her PRODUCTS label in September.

"While I stare @ my student debt. Worked my ass off for this," Johnson added. "Like so many other working-class kids who bust their ass for expertise, they weren't born into [...] to realize their ideas. I know who my supporters are in and outside of fashion. And I appreciate those…[If] you wanna gag over lazy celeb merch duped business models be my guest. Working ppl don't lose hope, we're here for more than a gag collection and a bag. Long game."

Unsurprisingly, Kylie Jenner is yet to respond, but stay tuned as the story develops.
