Following the news that Daniel Fletcher would be stepping down from his role at Fiorucci, the Italian fashion label returned to Milan Fashion Week for the ultimate homecoming. Under the creative direction of Francesca Murri, Fiorucci presented "Home Is Where The Heart Is," a celebration of the brand's hedonistic past and optimistic future.

Aiming to "break the fourth wall" between the ideals of womenswear and menswear, the presentation offered a range of intersectional looks that transcended gender, style and time of day, fusing loose tech-inspired menswear with figure-hugging womenswear silhouettes.

Elsewhere, the collection featured Murri's debut bag, dubbed the "Mella." Arriving in three sizes, the cylinder-shaped bag boasts a padded, patchwork outer, while a second shoulder bag keeps its heart on its sleeve (literally) with a multitude of functional pockets. L0w-hemmed skirts continued to parade down the runway, crafted with black ruffles and paired with printed bodysuits intrinsic to Fiorucci's rave-inspired DNA.

"Elio Fiorucci was a genius of fashion," began Murri in a press release. "He was also a creative lightning rod who saw beyond the borders of the industry to invite anyone who shared his renegade spirit -- artists, performers, writers, young kids from the street -- into the world he created, always without judgement and with love. That's a spirit that's sorely missing from today's very siloed, top-heavy fashion world. So, we're working to create a collection that catalyses a revival of that optimistic, joyous and democratic new wave. It's a collection about having fun, being together, and sparking positivity."

A true testament to Fiorucci's playful nature and loving legacy, the collection saw the statement "Fiorucci loves the way you are" stitched into loose tailoring, gilets, hats and shorts, while Andy Warhol's original banana print (designed for Elio Fiorucci) made a return from the archive for the first time.
