FEBEN and Sistah Space's Latest Collaboration Helps Survivors Heal

Ethiopian designer FEBEN and PUMA partner with London-based charity supporting survivors, Sistah Space.

Aiming to create a safe space for women, FEBEN hosted an all-day life drawing course for everyone ranging from students to Sistah Space's survivors. For those unfamiliar, Sistah Space is a renowned foundation for survivors of domestic abuse. Doubling as a community center, the collective works to remove biases that limit care for women of color, while also providing a safe haven. As part of the course, creatives, students and the public are encouraged to dive into art therapy and practice self-expression.

Domestic violence cases notoriously rise every holiday season, with shelters and community centers seeing an intense rise in cases each year. As Djanomi Robinson of Sistah Space shared, "This partnership with FEBEN means a lot to our charity as it provides a unique opportunity for our service users to partake in events that otherwise may not be so accessible to them. Whether it is used as a way of expression and healing or just a fun day out, opportunities like this are crucial at what can often be our busiest time of year. The fact that this partnership is supported by PUMA sends an important message to the demographic that we support and represent. You are seen, you are heard and you are cared for."

The Life Drawing event was captured by Central Saint Martens graduate and Sistah Space's very own, Liz Johnson Artur.
