Tommy Dorfman Is Ready to Hard Launch Her Wife

13 Reasons Why star Tommy Dorfman reveals she quietly married her partner Elise.

"I married my best friend and didn’t tell anyone," Dorfman wrote in her Instagram announcement. According to the American actor, the couple has been married for a "few weeks" after deciding to "celebrate this our way."

The couple tapped the most viral wedding trend of the moment: defying wedding norms. Beginning with secrecy, they only notified one friend, Hunter Abrams, who photographed their special moment. They also purchased their own dresses, defying theme.

Dorfman came out as a trans woman in 2021 during an interview and cover spread. "I view today as a reintroduction to me as a woman, having made a transition medically," Dorfman told Torrey Peters, author of Detransition, Baby. Aside from a few stunning campaigns, the actor has always been selective with how much they share.

She told Vogue, "A few months later, we got photos from Hunter and at that moment, we decided we wanted to share them with our friends and family and celebrate our love more publicly." While secret weddings have been a trend for celebrities like Cardi B, The Olsen's and Usher, the couple knew this was a win for representation, and worth sharing.

"While we won’t live our lives online in any way that isn’t well-protected, we do see the benefit of celebrating our love with the world—and, frankly, the importance of people seeing trans and queer love en vogue."
