J.Lo and Ben Affleck “Have PTSD” From Past Relationships, She Says

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck began dating in 2002 and after rekindling in 2022 they officially tied the knot. According to Lopez, however, their time apart took quite a toll on them both.
"When I was a little girl, when someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always… in love," her upcoming film's teaser revealed. Preparing for the launch of the album and respective film "This Is Me... Now," Lopez told Variety that both will uncover different aspects of her love life, which is a great cause for anxiety, she said.
When the couple split in 2004, it was because of "excessive media attention," the Enoguh star revealed. "We both have PTSD," because of it she continued. "But we’re older now. We’re wiser. We also know what’s important, what’s really important in life and it’s not so much what other people think. It’s about being true to who you are."
During their time apart, Affleck and Lopez went on to marry with Lopez joining forces with Alex Rodriguez, most notably, and Affleck marrying Jennifer Garner. After their respective divorces, they rekindled and finally wed in Las Vegas in 2022. "It was the best possible wedding we could have imagined," she wrote in her newsletter at the time. "One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last."
She proudly took Affleck's last name, writing it was "traditional" and "I'm proud of that." Whereas some deem taking their male partner's name a more revolutionary take, she continued, "People are still going to call me Jennifer Lopez. But my legal name will be Mrs. Affleck because we’re joined together." In her newsletter, she continued with a quote affirming their love: "When love is real, the only thing that matters in marriage is one another and the promise we make to love, care, understand, be patient, loving and good to one another."
