Givenchy just launched the first-ever print monograph of the house, exploring almost 180 haute couture and ready-to-wear collections. Taking readers on a journey from the house's debut in 1952 to today, the new book features original catwalk photography and an extensive index.

Titled Givenchy Catwalk, the new book documents the transition of the house from the days of Hubert de Givenchy through to John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Julien McDonald, alongside Riccardo Tisci, Clare Waight Keller and now: Matthew M. Williams.

"This book is an opportunity to trace the creative development of the fashion house's founder and his successors, to explore their early days, their triumphs, their doubts, [and] their innovations. It is also an opportunity to examine the reactions they provoked at the time, and how these are echoed in our own. A total of almost 180 collections testifies to a level of inventiveness and luxury that may well surprise the general public. The heart of Givenchy beats with the pulse of the times while maintaining a rare balance between commercial propositions and spectacular presentations," explains author Alexandre Samson.

Including a history of the house, Givenchy Catwalk features a brief overview of the house's various eras, alongside a biography of each designer and an introduction to each collection, charting its influences, highlights and catwalk moments. Concluded by an extensive reference section and a full index, the book offers a one-stop shop for everything a fashion fan needs to know.
