Private Policy brought the 19th century Wild West to New York Fashion Week with it's Fall/Winter 2024 collection, bridging western flare with futuristic forms. The brand aimed to "Set the stage for a groundbreaking exploration at the nexus of fashion, technology and societal discourse, centering around the dichotomies of AI" according to a press statement. In translation, the models strutted down the runway in garments that were an ode to Wild West aesthetics with a modern twist that revealed the future of ranch wear.

But what does this mean for glam?

Super sleek and slicked down hair reminiscent of Olympic artistic swimmers and dance recitals, of course. The shiny gel loaded styles were created by a team of stylists led by Shingo Shibata using products from the Kevin Murphy haircare line. Backstage the beauty team armed with blow dryers, hair spray and gel got to work creating the sleek looks.

The product line up consisted of Super.Goo, a rubbery sculpting gel, Anti.Gravity Spray, a weightless hair spray, Young.Again, a immortelle enriched treatment oil, Shimmer.Shine, a repairing shine mist and Session.Spray a strong hold finishing spray which are available on the brand's website.

According to Shibata, the super slicked looks were created by heavily spraying the hair with Anti.Gravity spray to create a shiny slicked down base. Next the team applied the Super.Goo gel section by section to gel down the hair ensuring that it was super flat and sleek. Afterwards, they followed up with the Young.Again oil and Session.Spray to lay down any flyaways and stiffen the hair. Lastly they loaded the hair down with Shimmer.Shine hair mist and voilà!
