Instagram is finally rolling out the option for users to view their feeds in reverse chronological order. The returning feature, which was available in select regions only, is now globally available.

The move comes after a Senate hearing last year, where Instagram's head Adam Mosseri shared that the company was working on such a feature due to concerns of Instagram's current algorithm being harmful to the mental health of younger users.

According to the social media platform, the algorithm ranking method will be the default option for feed viewing. From Wednesday on, users all around the world are able to select between two options: the Following option that prioritizes posts from people that the user follows in the order that they were shared, and the Favorites option, which shows the latest posts from a list of up to 50 accounts selected by the user.

Meta spoke of the change to CNN Business: "We're always working on new ways for people to have more control over their experience on Instagram, and giving you ways to quickly see what you're most interested in is one example of those efforts."

To use these two new features, all you have to do is tap the Instagram logo on your main feed. A dropdown menu will give you the option to view based on who you're following, and your favorites.
