The Grammys has officially barred Kanye West from performing at this year's event. Ye's rep confirmed the news with Varietystating that it was due to his "concerning online behavior."

The rep reportedly received a call on March 18 notifying the artist that he had been “unfortunately” pulled out from the performance lineup. Last week, Ye was banned from Instagram for 24 hours for using a racial slur at Trevor Noah, violating the platform’s harassment policy. This might have factored into the Academy's decision to cancel his performance.

On March 15, Trevor Noah called out the rapper for “harassing” Kim Kardashian amid their divorce. "What [Kardashian is] going through is terrifying to watch, and it shines a spotlight on what so many women go through when they choose to leave," Noah said on The Daily Show. "What we’re seeing is one of the most powerful, one of the richest women in the world, unable to get her ex to stop texting her, to stop chasing after her, to stop harassing her," he added.

However, following the announcement of Ye's performance being axed, Noah took to Twitter to express that he did not mean to cancel the musician. "I said counsel Kanye not cancel Kanye," the comedian said.

Despite not performing at the event this year, Ye still has five Grammy Award nominations, including Album of the Year for DONDA.
