Get an Inside Look of 'The Idol' Cast's Party Life in The Weeknd's New "Popular" Music Video

UPDATE (June 2, 2023): The Weeknd, Madonna and Playboi Carti have joined forces to drop their new single, "Popular."

The song is part of The Idol soundtrack, which explains all the actors' cameos in the music video. The video features many red carpet moments as well as an inside look into how the cast parties and celebrates.

ORIGINAL STORY (June 1, 2023): The Weeknd has taken to social media to tease a new song for The Idol soundtrack. This time, it's a collab with Madonna and Playboi Carti.

"The Idol Vol. 1 ALBUM PRE-ORDER this Friday! + new Single with @playboicarti / @madonna #POPULAR."

"Popular" will be the second drop from The Idol soundtrack. The first was "Double Fantasy" featuring Future.

Though The Idol has yet to premiere on HBO, it's taken the internet by storm. Recently, Lily-Rose Depp, who plays pop star Jocelyn, shared a message, defending her character's explicitness. "Jocelyn is a born and bred performer — and I think that extends to every aspect of her life, not just her professional life," she recently said, according to Pop Crave. "The way that she dresses, for example, is her trying to tell you something all the time … Or express herself in some kind of way. I also think that the occasional bareness of the character physically mirrors the bareness that we get to see emotionally in her."
