UPDATE (May 24, 2023): Taylor Swift has revealed that a new version of "Snow on the Beach" with more of Lana Del Rey's vocals will be released.

"You asked for it, we listened: Lana and I went back into the studio specifically to record more Lana on 'Snow on the Beach,'" Swift wrote on Instagram after announcing her upcoming Ice Spice collab on the "Karma" remix.

The song will be released on Friday, May 26 as part of Midnights (Til Dawn Edition), which you can pre-order here.

UPDATE (February 24, 2023): A few weeks ago, Lana Del Rey spoke up about her feature on Taylor Swift's "Snow on the Beach," addressing the lack of singing. Now, she's elaborated on why she only contributed background vocals.

"First of all, I had no idea I was the only feature on that song," she told Billboard in a new interview. "Had I known, I would have sung the entire second verse like she wanted."

She continued, "My job as a feature on a big artist’s album is to make sure I help add to the production of the song, so I was more focused on the production. She was very adamant that she wanted me to be on the album, and I really liked that song. I thought it was nice to be able to bridge that world, since Jack [Antonoff] and I work together and so do Jack and Taylor."

ORIGINAL STORY (February 7, 2023): Prior to the release of Taylor Swift's Midnights, fans were excited to learn that Lana Del Rey was a feature on one of the tracks -- "Snow on the Beach." However, after listening to the song once the album dropped, many were disappointed over the fact that Del Rey didn't have her own verse on the track. Instead, her voice served as more as backup to Swift's. Now, the "Summertime Sadness" singer is addressing her small input on the song.

Del Rey took to Instagram to share her opinion on "Snow on the Beach" while sharing a series of photos of Swift, Jack Antonoff and her sister Chuck Grant.

"I would've sung the entire second verse if I had known, I was the only feature buttttt my production skills were on point and Chuck's photo skills are [fire emoji]," she wrote.

Prior to dropping Midnights, Swift took to social media to rave about working with Del Rey. She said at the time, "Lana Del Rey, in my opinion, is one of the best musical artists ever. The fact that I get to exist at the same time as her is an honor and a privilege. And the fact that she would be so generous as to collaborate with us on this song is something I’m gonna be grateful for… For life. Absolutely love her, and really I hope you love this song as much as I do."
