UPDATE (March 3, 2023): BTS member J-Hope has dropped his latest single "on the street" with J. Cole, just a day after announcing the unexpected collaboration.

UPDATE (March 2, 2023): BTS member J-Hope, who is set to release a new solo single ahead of his military enlistment, revealed that "on the street" is actually a collaboration with J. Cole. The unexpected team-up was teased in a 40-second clip of the two artists sitting on a rooftop with the New York City landscape seen in the background.

With the global success of BTS, it's no surprise that the K-pop group has been joining forces with artists from around the globe. Jungkook released the 2022 FIFA World Cup soundtrack "Dreamers" with Qatari singer Fahad Al Kubaisi, months after dropping "Left and Right" with Charlie Puth. Meanwhile, on his solo album Wildflower, RM featured names like Erykah Badu, Mahalia and more.

J-Hope's "on the street" featuring J. Cole will release on March 3 at 2 p.m. KST (12 a.m. ET).

ORIGINAL STORY (February 26, 2023): BTS member J-Hope has two big news this week: his upcoming military enlistment and a new single on the way.

Over the weekend, the K-pop artist's label BIGHIT MUSIC officially announced that he would begin the processes necessary for joining the South Korean army. The company said in a statement, "We would like to inform our fans that J-hope has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement. We will inform you of further updates in due course." The note continued, "We ask you for your continued love and support for J-hope until he completes his military service and safely returns. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artist."

Just like his bandmate Jin, it seems J-Hope will be dropping a new single before heading to the military for his fans, announcing his latest single titled "on the street." Set to release on March 3, the track is described to be a lo-fi hip-hop song with an "easy-listening melody and warm-hearted lyrics," which are written by J-Hope himself. The track was teased with a black-and-yellow graphic.

The news arrives after J-Hope was officially announced as the global brand ambassador of Louis Vuitton.
