SHUSHU/TONG's SS25 Campaign Brings "Attraction and Rejection" to Life
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Wed, 08 Jan 2025 HypebaeSHUSHU/TONG first debuted its Spring/Summer 2025 collection during Shanghai Fashion Week, exploring "The Pleasure of Rejection." Drawing inspiration from the character of Erika Kohut from 2001's erotic drama The Piano Teacher alongside the book The Conflicts of Us, the collection looked at themes of passion, despair and self-loathing, exploring the contradiction that lives within the inner world of women.
Lensed by photographer Zhong Lin, the accompanying campaign brings the SS25 collection to life through emotion-inducing imagery, deep hues and confident poses. Attempting to convey the juxtaposing "attraction and rejection" that underpins the collection, the campaign imagery sees its protagonist captured in a multitude of settings, showcasing each complex emotion. Captured laying in a bath of water, spread on a sofa and clutching flowers, the SS25 campaign brings the collection's themes, influences and references to the forefront.
