Shay Mitchell Is Expecting Her Second Child

Shay Mitchell is officially going to be a mom of two. The Pretty Little Liars and YOU alum took to Instagram to share images from her maternity photoshoot.

"Saying goodbye to a loved one while simultaneously experiencing the joy of welcoming another into this world is the great cycle of life. It is also my most challenging season to date," the actor says in her caption, referring to the recent death of her grandmother and her second child with partner Matte Babel. "I can't help but think this was the universe's plan all along, knowing I would need otherworldly joy to cushion the blow of losing one of the most important people in my life," she continues.

Mitchell and Babel welcomed their firstborn, Atlas Noa, two years ago. Back in August 2021, the actor subtly revealed that she and her partner were interested in expanding their family. She joked on E! News' Daily Pop that she "should have had a baby" during quarantine and would "love to" have more kids "when the time is right."

"This is proof that love, life and loss can profoundly exist all at the same time. Gram, I miss you every day. Little one, we are so excited to meet you. I breathe a sigh of peace knowing you two are already connected in such a cosmic way," Mitchell concludes her post.

The couple has not disclosed Mitchell's due date and the sex of their child. Stay tuned while we wait for more information.
