Emily Ratajkowski Announces Birth of First Child, Sylvester Apollo Bear

Emily Ratajkowski has given birth to her first child, Sylvester Apollo Bear, with husband Sebastian Bear-McClard. The model and actor announced the news on Instagram, where she shared a heart-warming photo of her and her baby, who was born on March 8.

"Sylvester Apollo Bear has joined us earth side," Ratajkowski wrote in a brief caption. "Sly arrived 3/8/21 on the most surreal, beautiful, and love-filled morning of my life," she added. Scores of celebrities including Halsey, who revealed she's pregnant last month, Rosalía and Bella Hadid commented their congratulations. Ratajkowski, who first announced her pregnancy in a digital Vogue cover, has been vocal about her desire to raise Sylvester with as few gender-based stereotypes as possible.  "We like to respond that we won’t know the gender until our child is 18 and that they’ll let us know then," she wrote, addressing the expectation that she announce the sex of her child.
