Is Rihanna's Fenty Skin Flash Nap Instant Revival Eye Gel-Cream Really Worth the Hype?

Up until recently, my dark circles have been my biggest insecurity. The fact I'm getting older, and that I work late at night and haven't been getting enough sleep, has probably contributed to the tired appearance of my under-eye bags . On top of that, they are especially more pigmented than the average person due to my genetics.

For the longest time, I hadn't been able to find the perfect eye cream to cater to my skincare needs. So when Rihanna came out with her latest Fenty Skin Flash Nap Instant Revival Eye Gel-Cream, which claims it can help reduce puffiness and dark circles, I knew I had to try it out for myself. While some don't believe in the benefits of eye cream and that a face moisturizer will suffice, this particular product may be able to change their minds.

Read on for my honest review of Fenty Skin's new eye cream in this week’s Editor’s Pick.

WHAT IT IS: Fenty Skin Flash Nap Eye Gel-Cream

WHY IT’S WORTH THE HYPE: I've only recently started incorporating this eye cream into my morning and nighttime skincare routine, and after a week of using it, I noticed unexpected changes in my complexion. The product is actually a two-in-one eye cream that also acts as a primer for concealer. I work mostly from home at the moment, so I had to wait a few days until I could test out its primer functionality.

As an eye cream, it definitely tightens, hydrates, restores and soothes the under eyes. I recommend getting the Eye Massage Tool -- it really makes a difference as it provides a cooling effect, which wakes up and de-puffs my skin, especially early in the morning. After a few minutes, I can already see how much more alive I look even without a single drop of foundation or concealer. If you want to get technical, the formula is infused with horse chestnut that reduces the look of puffiness, hyaluronic acid for hydration and green tea that helps defend the skin against environmental stressors. There's also a subtle scent to it, which is indicated at the end of the ingredients list, but I personally don't mind it at all.

When I finally needed to put makeup on last week, I was quite intrigued by what the effects of the eye cream would be at the end of the day. Typically, my concealer creases, resulting in my fine lines being more visible. However, when I got home from spending 11 hours outside, my under eyes looked completely smooth as if I just re-applied a new layer of powder over my concealer. It's safe to say that this eye cream is worth every penny and is now a must-have in my skincare collection.

WHERE YOU CAN FIND IT: Priced at $42 USD, Fenty Skin Flash Nap Eye Gel-Cream with the Eye Massage Tool is now available at the Fenty Skin website. The gel-cream on its own retails for $32 USD at Sephora.
