Rihanna's Super Bowl Halftime Lipstick and Nails Made a Statement: "Red Is Not Dead"

After many years, Rihanna has returned to her first love of performing music for the 2023 Super Bowl, and it was well worth the wait.
The Fenty Beauty founder pulled up to the stadium in Arizona dressed in blood-red from head to toe. Rih has always been known for bold makeup and hair looks, but if you're a true fan, you'll know that red is one of her signature colors — and the robust red lip her makeup artist Priscilla Ono, Fenty Beauty Global Makeup Artist curated for her, spoke to one of her flaming eras in her music career. "That red stage called for the ultimate Rihanna red lip," Ono says in a press release. "We wanted her beauty look to celebrate this moment and be a true reflection of her timeless beauty. And to me, there's nothing more iconic to Rihanna than her soft matte skin and a bold red lip."
Of course the rest of RihRih's glam was courtesy of Fenty Beauty, featuring the award-winning Pro Filt'r Liquid and powder foundation, applied in thin layers and dusted lightly with the brand's setting powder. To complete the look, the singer sported a classic red manicure styled by celebrity nail artist Kimmie Kyees.
